Last Day in Boston - The Greater Boston Food Bank & The Freedom Trail

Today was our last day of service at the Greater Boston Food Bank! This facility can hold up to 50 millions pounds of food. We packed about 400 pounds of food per person and overall helped provide 6,112 meals for hungry people in Eastern Boston.

We then got to enjoy our final lunch out at the Centre Street Cafe in Jamaica Plains, a community in Boston. They try to only use organic, local food and it was sooooo delicious! The restaurant was really tiny and one chef cooked for all of us, yet they had us in and out in a little over an hour.

We then spent our last night walking around the Freedom Trail. We saw some great historic sites, including Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market, King's Chapel & their burying grounds, Old City Hall, etc. We split into 2 groups and some of us ate dinner at Quincy Market while some of us ate at the Clover food truck, which we had been trying to go to all week.

There's a red line right on the sidewalk that people can follow from site to site.

The Old State House which is located along the freedom trail. It's crazy how at one time it was one of the tallest buildings in Boston and now it is dwarfed by skyscrapers.

We think everyone enjoyed their week here in Boston and were able to learn a lot about urban agriculture and hunger!
